Story
Hi Supporters
I've chosen to run with Lifeline because the prevention of suicide, as well as the development and awareness of positive mental health is an issue that is very close to my heart. Over the past 10 years I've struggled with my own mental health battles; from beating anorexia as a teen, to dealing with severe anxiety attacks, and now, trying to manage that ongoing battle with stress and self-concept. Every day I see how the effects of poor mental health, depression, anxiety and low self-esteem affect the youth of our country. I speak to young people far too often that verbalise that they feel like they have no-one to talk to about their mental health problems, or that they are too afraid to speak out. I want to change this, and really strive to create an awareness about the services that LIFELINE provide, and dissolve any negative stigma which may be associated with reaching out for help from others.
I am aiming to raise money for Lifeline's lifesaving services including 13 11 14 and Online Crisis Chat and welcome any contribution big or small!
